Sources Policy

Different questions require different sources.

Scientific and health claims

We prioritize government and regulatory resources, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, randomized controlled trials, peer-reviewed human research and reputable clinical or academic resources.

Product facts

For formula, label, serving size, directions and product specifications, we prioritize current first-party documentation and the actual product label.

Commercial information

Seller or manufacturer pages are appropriate for what the seller charges or claims, but they are not independent proof that a product works.

Customer feedback

Testimonials, seller reviews, retailer reviews and independent consumer reports are identified according to source whenever possible.

Conflicting sources

When sources materially disagree, we aim to disclose the conflict rather than selecting whichever version creates the stronger sales message.
